In this advanced one-day program, you will have a unique opportunity to receive practical drafting and prosecution tips from two highly experienced European patent attorneys. The topics covered will be inventions in the field high tech and information technology (IT), pharma and biotech, as well as the use of PPH before the European Patent Office (EPO) for these inventions.

Faculty

Micaela Modiano and Alessandro Sanchini are European patent attorneys, and partners at Modiano & Partners, one of the leading IP firms in Europe.  see

Alessandro is a software engineer specializing in drafting, prosecution and litigation of IT inventions. He was involved in major international litigations, assisting RIM, Nokia, NEC and Samsung. Prior to joining Modiano & Partners, he worked for a few years as a computer developer and software architect.

Micaela is an organic chemist specializing in drafting, prosecution and litigation of pharma and biotech inventions. She received her education from Harvard University, the University of London and the University of Strasbourg. She is a member of the council of epi (the European patent attorneys’ association) and of the EPPC (the epi committee advising the EPO on legislative issues).
